What do the numbers say about consumers and Bitcoin?
According to a Mercator survey, 65% of consumers are aware of Bitcoin.
When consumers were asked, “Have you opened a Bitcoin wallet?”
In 2016 22% of respondents, aged 18-34 said yes, however, in 2017
only 12% of respondents said yes.
And for those consumers who do use Bitcoin here is where they use it:
56% used it to make a purchase at an online retailer.
46% used it to pay family and friends.
And 32% used it to pay household bills.
